Mt Mort Cottage is now 99% ready for occupancy after a massive makeover and refit. The old Ebenezer house is all but empty, with most furniture stored in shed till big house is built. There are still some bigger items to move and final moving date should be late November.

The construction of the fancy new dog complex fencing at Mt Mort has been delayed due to a death in the family of the bricklayer, so plans are in place for more substantial temporary dog yard fencing for the interim. Horse fencing will be commenced very shortly and is promised for completion “before Christmas”, and until the big horse paddock is secure, the horses will have to make do with several existing smaller paddocks. The dam has been scheduled for enlarging, hopefully before the predicted “big wet” hits this Summer.

Puppy breeding plans at Mirribandi are still on hold till we are more settled and can devote our usual lavish care on the youngsters – pretty girls Alanna and/or Casino are hoping for Groenendael litters in 2012, and we have exciting AI plans for Tervueren litters with the beautiful girls Ice and/or Isla in 2012.

Xanova Black Jack (Imp UK) – also known as “Trillion” has sired Groenendael pups born early November 2011 at Lumineux Kennels, Victoria. Please contact Helene for puppy bookings from these lovely litters sired by our handsome English import (son of French Specialty Show winner). We are most happy to recommend these puppies as alternatives to our own Mirribandi born babies.

We are looking forward to being settled up at Mt Mort, and being able to find time to get back into the show ring with our youngsters Trillion, Merlin, Xander, Ultra and Monty. Ice and Isla need a couple more points to finish their titles, and we look forward to them attaining their Championship status too.

Quick update – the cottage at the new property is being revamped to livable. Shed pad is down. Shed should be completed next week. Drive way is now all weather. Hope to finish moving last of furniture across after shed is complete. Need to erect dog yards before we can move dogs across.

Breeding plans put on hold.

30 day contract is signed, sealed and delivered for the sale of our home to the Government for the compulsory acquisition for the rail line. The contract for the purchase of our new block of land, not far from here, is progressing well. Settlement date is 1^st August. The tears are behind us, and we are looking forward to a fresh new start.

“Revoir”, Ch Winjammer’s Revoir (Imp USA), left us today for the Rainbow Bridge. The vet came to our home, and Revoir was put to sleep in the comfort of her favourite couch, amongst everything she knew and loved. She can now run free in the sky, without pain of cancer, forever chasing birds with her half sister, “Phoenix”. Revoir was loved by many, and will remain in our hearts for all times. Bling Bling, our darling 2 year old Warmblood filly, was put out of her misery today, after we found her with a stake up through her chest, right through her body, and protruding from behind her shoulder blade near her wither. Goodness knows how she managed to stay on her feet waiting for us to say “Goodbye”. Many, many tears have been shed for this sweet girl, who’s life was tragically ended before her potential had been reached……… We miss you Bling Bling…… Fly free with the angels, dear girl…..

We have had a pretty traumatic last few months. Deja dying of snake bite. Hahn being bitten by a snake, but thankfully recovered well after a hefty vet bill. The interstate freight rail line proposed to run straight through our lovely house. It has been one disaster after another……..

Thankfully, there is plenty of good health, good friends, good food, and good times to be had at Mirribandi. We have a house full of love. We cannot ask for more (but look forward to the recent hurdles thinning out a bit!).

We wish all our friends, family, puppy buyers and associates a very Happy New Year, and hope that all your (and our) 2010 dreams are realized.
