Hi, my name is Heart.  I am litter sister to the beautiful Romany – Ch Mirribandi Romance HIC HT PT, and handsome Remmy – Ch Mirribandi Rembrandt.

Unlike my famous litter mates, I have never left Mirribandi – except for a vet visit or two.  I will never make it to the show ring, nor the obedience ring.   You see, I was diagnosed at 6 weeks of age of having a massive hole in my heart.  There was nothing they could do to make sure that I was to live a long and healthy life.  The vet wanted Kathryn to put me to sleep right then and there.  Kathryn needed time to think about this, as outwardly, I appeared to be normal happy puppy.  My heart had not let my body and growth down, and I was able to keep up growth and stamina in time with my litter mates at 6 weeks of age.

After much soul searching, Roger & Kathryn decided to let me live out my days naturally.   I am still here, and have outlived all expectations – I am now 5 YEARS OLD.  Yippee!!!!   I am bigger than Romany, and can ran faster than some other of my friends here at Mirribandi.  I have a lovely coat.  I am happy, and I am very much loved.  I intend to live many more years yet (but don’t tell the vet that I am treated as a normal dog, and not wrapped in cotton wool!).  I bet if I am allowed to get lost of exercise that I will live for many years to comeJ

Although I have not been out and about, I am very social, and love everyone who comes to visit.  I am house trained, and lead trained, and I am fascinated with cats.  Unlike my naughty sister, Romany, I don’t harass the cats, but if they run, I will chase them.  I am good with the horses (as long as they stay on their side of the fence).  I have not worked the sheep but I think I would work briskly and confidently with them.  I am excellent with children, and adore little children and am very patient with them.

I am very much a people kind of dog.  I get along really well with other dogs too.

At 5 years old, and still going strong, I found a new home with a lovely family in country NSW.  I have just moved in with them, and love attention they lavish on me.  I am looking forward to going to the school with my new mother, who is the principal there.  They tell me it is a little one teacher school, and I will be able to help with classes and teaching the children all about animals and animal husbandry skills.  Ah, life is grand!

March 2006 – 6 months old – I was a gangly youngster, hey!  It was a hot day, and I felt like a cool down in the water bucket.

My baby photo – I’m 8 weeks old here – I was a very beautiful baby!
