The final arrangements for the planning of this litter were a last minute rush. We were not sure if Barbara was going to be able to bring Picasso to Queensland to visit Flirt. We couldn’t get Flirt to Melbourne for the breeding.

It all came together quite nicely, with Barbara, Daniel and Rudy driving from Victoria, staying a few days with us, and doing the touristy thing – Sea World, Wet & Wild (my son Nicholas loved sharing this day with them), Australia Zoo, and seeing the night lights of Brisbane.

While the family was off seeing South East Queensland’s premier tourist attractions, Barbara’s dogs enjoyed a relaxing time flat out sleeping on the cool sandstone floors at Mirribandi. The babies arrived on the Sunday afternoon – which is very civilized. Our dear friend Monique wanted to be midwife for this litter, so we called her back from the Gold Coast after the first puppy was evident it was on it’s way. Kind of snuck up on us, as we didn’t expect puppies till a few days later, so Flirt must have conceived on the first day that Picasso arrived at Mirribandi.

Monique delivered puppy number 2, and then Annette and daughter Jacinta arrived on their way home from a country dog show, and Jacinta helped deliver puppy 3 and 4.

Mother and babies are doing fine. Babies are growing every day.
